Enlightenment DayOshana recognised enlightenment at 5 am on 19th June 2000. Perspective ShiftEverything was the same but strangely something was different. He attempted to discover what this difference was. He could not exactly locate it. He called it a "perspective shift". Since it happened in consciousness, and consciousness is invisible, it's not an easy thing to talk about as we lack the appropriate concepts. Enlightenment is not taught in schools, though it should be because it is simply deeply and exactly experiencing the source of your self, i.e. Consciousness. Looking from OutsideOshana described the experience of this enlightenment as being outside of , and watching, the life of David, which included thoughts, emotions and physical sensations. Previously, he felt that he was trapped inside their confines, now he felt free and spacious. Direct SeeingOshana says that the experience of enlightenment is not to be confused with enlightenment itself. Enlightenment is where consciousness experiences itself directly without the mediation of the mind and sense. The mind figures that something big is going on and tries to reason what that is, and so it comes up with interpretations. Always NearWhat can be said in words is an interpretation conveyed by concepts. If you are not enlightened then you will not know exactly what is being described. However, enlightenment is never very far away, it is as close to you as your own consciousness. But generally people do not really want enlightenment, as it ruins deeply held illusions about life. No time, no spaceConsciousness is everything. We have always been consciousness. In consciousness there is no time or space. We created a world of time and space in which to pretend to be separate - which is asleep to our true nature. Generally, we do not wish to wake up, not yet because that would ruin the game. SeekingWe do not come to the world to get enlightened. We are already enlightened. We come here to be in ignorance, to act separate and be involved in drama. The search for enlightenment is part of that drama. Very few of those who claim to want enlightenment are sincere or know what they are talking about. Seen not TaughtEnlightenment cannot be taught. It is not a body of knowledge or a set of behaviours. However, when a person deeply desires to know the Truth meets one who knows the truth then something magical can happen, and enlightenment can occur. TransmissionFor this reason, Oshana is sceptical about using various teaching formats to convey enlightenment, and constantly experiments with new approaches. Regular attendees of Oshana's meetings talk of not knowing what to expect from Oshana. However, meetings generally start with a short introduction to seated participants. After that there may be questions and answers, standing exercises, games - we won't say too much, as things may have radically changed again by the time you have the pleasure of experiencing a meeting with Oshana. Public meetings have a certain basic structure because people generally expect many things, e.g. seating, explanations, clear instructions, and a feeling of security. Added to that spiritual seekers often expect to be entertained, inspired, blissed out, impressed by psychic demonstrations, taught esoteric concepts. None of those things has anything to do with enlightenment. Energy SurfingEnlightenment is radical, spontaneous and revolutionary. It cannot be confined and defies expectations. To circumvent these expectations Oshana mainly does his enlightenment stuff on the quiet with people who desire to awaken but have not expressed it in the formulaic clichés of the seasoned seeker. In these circumstances, which could be called teaching, but are better just called "surfing" - where Oshana "surfs" the energetic interaction with the other person - he typically makes no reference to esoteric concepts or words such as enlightenment or consciousness. Surfing a group energy is a more complicated affair, but it is fun. However, the real intense work happens in one to one interactions whether that happens in a group or outside it. Contact HighOshana therefore emphasises that to get enlightened a meeting is necessary even though people have had awakenings at a distance through reading his articles, listening to his recordings and speaking with him on the phone. Responding to The CallOshana never wanted to be a conduit for enlightenment but has surrendered 95% to this life path. He likes having free-time, going for walks, doing nothing, eating Chinese food and chillies, and many other things, but he is always open to meeting a seeker (or a finder) at a moments notice when the call is pressing and immediate. If you are meant to meet Oshana then you will. Nothing is certain in this life, and it matters not if you get enlightened. You will always exist as consciousness. Nothing can touch you or harm you.
