Transcend All Belief
The Effortlessness of Being Your Self
[Oshana] I very much look forward to meeting you.
[Questioner] Am going through a kind of bumpy patch at the moment, a bit of a reassessment of things, and I think I need another view on this whole enlightenment business!
[Oshana] You certainly will get that. I was on the other side of the fence since my childhood.
[Questioner] You no doubt have heard that Andrew is an uncompromising teacher. Briefly, the bottom line of his teaching is that we must want to be Free MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE and be willing to give EVERYTHING - its an absolute and not a relative matter.
[Oshana] Maybe this is so. But what must be said in order to ease the load that this commitment and determination comes naturally from within and is inevitable for some as puberty is for all. We cannot like the 'Alice in Wonderland' character believe a dozen impossible things before breakfast unless we are naturally predisposed to believe thus.
However, you may notice that around a Teacher and in a group one can believe all sorts of things that apparently one never would by oneself.
It would then follow that one should aim to place oneself in the vibrational field of a truly Awakened Person, one who is in their Being. In that one's company it is possible to transcend All Belief, all trying, all commitment and arrive at the Effortless-ness of Being Your Self which is what you do magnificently, anyway.
[Questioner] Any resistance that may come up is likely to be the ego which wants to stay in control. We have to see that the root of ego is completely dark, no matter how logical it all may seem.
[Oshana] You will see. You will see that logic is not the most appropriate measuring stick.
[Questioner] Anyway, I can definitely understand this view and have experienced the liberation in it, but emotionally I often find it a bit of a living hell and full of ongoing anxiety!
[Oshana] Yes, there are benefits in imitating the Enlightened way but you cannot keep up the effort all day long.
[Questioner] It just gets into a whole internal battle between good and evil - though this is obviously full of my own ideas of what that might be, which adds further to the drama! .....Ugh!
[Oshana] So true...this is the dilemma faced by those who take a fixed position...
[Questioner] Anyway, this could all be just my ego wanting relief from the situation, I really don't know, but somethings' gotta change. Hence me seeking you out.
[Oshana] Truly, this is the last stop, the Spiritual Elephant's Graveyard where the lumbering juggernauts that tromped the Path finally forget all they knew - and remember that normally elephants never forget!
[Questioner] All the best for now (and thanks for listening!)
[Oshana] Thank you.
