Crunch Points: Radical Spiritual Path Decisions

An Oshana Enlightenment Student seeker presents Oshana with a classic issue: whether to stay and accept an uncomfortable, spiritually-unfulfilling but materially beneficial situation or to leave and follow the path of the heart?

The seeker's email:

Hi Dave,

This week started with loads of energy and ended a bit confused. Especially yesterday and today there was quite some struggle with my work. Also yesterday I played tennis with a colleague and I thought all the time that I don't want this (also regarding my job), I'm wasting my time. Maybe I was/am not.

I wonder if the "I don't want this"-thoughts are just my ego's resistance. Because when I started working on Monday after a four week break I couldn't see any bad thing about my work. In fact, I felt there are opportunities to connect to people in a new and positive and exciting way. And suddenly the food in our canteen tasted really nice! (It didn't use to, for a while) Even though its not the best food - at least they have a vegetarian option. ;-)

Over the week I kind of seem to have lost the enthusiasm and energy a bit. Also I notice old mind patterns emerging again, like wanting to eat some sweets or to drink coffee when I don't feel happy or well.

However, I feel I need to stay in love and truth all the time! But sometimes it seems so hard. Maybe I do need to be/work in a more spiritually supportive environment. I'm a bit at a loss.

Love,
[German Student]

Oshana's reply:

Hi ...,[German Student]

You might have, though, some unrealistic expectations of how you believe you should feel when at your current workplace. These expectations may be driven by inappropriate beliefs.

I don't think your ego is the cause of your discomfort problems more at work than when not at work. When you had a holiday you became energetically renewed, you fed yourself energetically, now you are at work you are starting to starve.

While it is drastic and radical for anyone to leave a place suddenly, and not always appropriate, there comes a time in your development and sensitivity that it is obvious that a situation is wrong for your spiritual path. Of course, it is sometimes difficult to know what to do next but you must find the way - again and again until you breakthrough and get direct guidance from Transmission.

Blessings,
Dave O
