Permanent Perspective Shift

[Oshana]

Hi Stephen,

My current perspective seems to be completely different from any other powerful spiritual experiences that I have had in the past.

I therefore do not understand how one can have a temporary or partial perspective shift. However, I am willing to look into everything that people bring to the Dialogues.

The situation of anyone who considers that they are not Awake is the same, whether they have had a 'glimpse'. My job is to facilitate making that shift permanent - when that happens you can decide the new experience was the same as the old ones - until then we cannot know. So have the shift and tell us.

The only advice I can give is that you meet me in person.

love and best wishes in the moment,

Oshana

Dear Oshana...

You speak of a "permanent experience" or ... in my words ... a "permanent shift" in one's perspective or view. However, in my experience and (it seems to me) in the experience of a majority of seekers (no statistics, of course!) .. that more often than not one has glimpses of the view beyond the ego, beyond the personal, beyond the usual body-and-time-bound psycho/emotional/mental prison... BUT then one's consciousness or state seems to revert back to the personal... and what's left is at best a two-dimensional MEMORY of that glimpse.

So then what?

It's all well and good to speak of a permanent shift into a place beyond the ego ... but what is one to do when one is BACK IN THE EGO. Saying that "if one reverts back to the ego one's shift wasn't complete" or some such isn't really very helpful. One may KNOW that one's ego-bound state is ultimately FALSE but still remain helpless to change it.

So... what is the sincere seeker to do IN THE MEANTIME??????

Thanks in advance, Stephen
