Driving a Ferrari Sports Car
Co-incidentally, I was joking around at someone else's meeting (but it was OK because he instantly liked me -it's a resonance thing :-)). He said that finding happens when the seeking stops. I realise that is ambiguous and contentious. But the seeking is supposed to stop first - or so the new dogma says.
Anyway, I said that we need a 12-step program for Recovering Seekers and the 13th step is becoming a 'teacher'!
(For those who don't know 12 step programs are for addicts of all sorts.)
I go along with the buddy system of liberated-from-guru style seekers as long as I still get invited to dinner!
Actually, that post about this being "The Last Profession" has made me think: "Why shouldn't I get paid for this?". I find this question annoys certain 'traditional' seekers who come and enjoy themselves and then drive their petrol-guzzling 2-seater Ferrari sports cars back to their miserable lives as amoral City stock-brokers tampering with the International Economy.
There is a moral in there somewhere.....
Still pals after all these emails,
My, this is good news! I mean that you are successfully putting yourself out of business. Isn't there just an unending supply of seekers out there? No devotees slavishly serving your every whim, tho. Tsk, tsk. Golly, beginning to suspect you may be the real thing. Most of the *truly realized* people I know still have jobs even. Welcome to the millennium of the non-guru, buddy system of enlightenment. Am forwarding by another post the latest version of the 12 step program for your amusement.
